Clever Judy Frosting Found

The Request:
"Many years ago I used to make Clever Judy Frosting with my Grandmother - it was
almost a whipped mocha consistency. The thing I remember most is that we would
have to spell one another beating the frosting in a bowl over a bowl of ice
until it set. The recipe is long gone. Hopefully you will be familiar with it. I
would love to have it. Many thanks. Sharon"
Clever Judy Frosting 2 squares chocolate
1 egg
1 tbsp. butter
1/4 cup cream
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Melt chocolate and butter in top of
double-boiler. Cool and add powdered sugar, egg and cream. Beat until thick
enough to spread and mix in vanilla.

*Editor’s Note: While searching
for another recipe, I found this recipe in a little pamphlet, published in
1943. In those days they were less concerned about eggs and salmonella. Click
