At
Heritage Recipes we believe in preserving recipes from the past. For many years
we have been collecting recipes that were stuck in the back of kitchen drawers,
tucked into recipes boxes or old cookbooks and sometimes toss in the trash.
These were the recipes that our mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers
shared with their daughters and friends and used everyday.
Many of these recipes have special memories tied to them and we want to preserve
both the recipes and the memories. The recipe card pictured the homepage was
found in a box of junk at a Tacoma, WA, garage sale and saved from destruction
by a friend.
We do not directly sell anything on this website and support the costs of maintaining it with
the profits from our felted handbag pattern website -
Confetti Creative Knitting,
Google ads, Amazon ads, Jessica Biscuit ads and sponsorships. If you are interested in a
sponsorship, please contact us at
editor@heritagerecipes.com.
Send Us Your Heritage Recipe
You can join us in the preservation of these heritage recipes
and memories by submitting recipes
that have been passed on to you by someone special in your life.
Along with the heritage recipe, please include your memory of
the person who gave you the recipe or your story about the
recipe.
For your convenience, we have created an Adobe PDF file for
all most all of our heritage recipes. You will need to download Adobe Reader to
your computer to print these files. Heritage recipes that
have been submitted by authors and that appear in their books do
not have a PDF file.
We have been receiving many requests for us to
search for lost recipes. We are happy to help but can't always
promise that we will find the recipe. To help with the search
we have created blog --
Old Recipe Detective. Please check it to
see what recipes we are looking for...maybe you can help!
You can
email me directly with questions
about our heritage recipes, suggestions and ideas. Thanks for visiting our website --
I hope you will visit again and share your recipes and memories
with us.
